Yesterday was just a great day overall. Even though we were supposed to get to sleep late I had to get up early and accompany Gary to the mall. We had a very good production meeting where a lot of stuff was decided. We agreed that the format should consist of the Socratic interview to break the ice, followed by the smaller groups, followed by the one on one interviews, which worked amazingly.

When we got there I sat down with the Kids from the STARS program, and they sat down and told their program and me all about them. From there we got into the Socratic interview which worked fantastically because the Peers kids did a lot of the work that Frank thought he would have to do himself.

We then broke off into groups of 4 or 5 in which we got to know the STARS and Hotline people a little better. Also the fact that the cameras were moving around, instead of the groups having to come to the cameras kept the people much more relaxed and made conversation flow much more freely.

The last stage was the one on one interviews, and by this time all of the talents were extremely comfortable with their subjects. Due to unpredictable time restraints my interviews were mostly cut short, so I wasn’t able to take everything I could get out of them, but others got extremely good interviews, some including strong emotions, and a couple even included crying. Overall it was one of best things I have ever been personally involved with, especially considering that the adults hardly did anything at all to help and let us manage completely by ourselves.
